Comparison of ablation and non-ablative laser rejuvenation

For rejuvenation, CO2 (carbon dioxide) and erbium lasers are used, the radiation of which is absorbed mainly by water. They differ in wavelength and degree of energy absorption, which determines the technology of the trick. The CO-2 device is used to rejuvenate the ablative, and the erbium device - no dissection.

With vaginal rejuvenation, the laser not only affects the deep layers of the skin, but also the surface layers. With non-ablation - the laser penetrates deep into the tissue but does not damage the skin surface. This is possible due to the different wavelengths of the laser, as well as the fact that the epidermis contains less water (10-15%) than the deep layers of the skin (70-75%).

The carbon dioxide laser has the longest wavelength of any medical laser available at 10, 600 nm. Such rays are very well absorbed by water, so they react even with a small amount of water contained in the epidermis. Therefore, the ablation technique is performed with the help of a laser, which is able to affect the surface layer of the skin.

Erbium laser wavelengths range from 1064 to 2940 nm. The clinic uses Laser Palomar Lux 1540, wavelength 1540 nm, depth into tissues up to 2 mm. Such rays are less absorbed by water and thus pass through the epidermis without damaging it. The laser's impact has already begun in the deep layers, where there are enough water molecules to interact with the beam. Palomar Lux 1540 is used for fractional photothermal process.

Why is laser skin rejuvenation a safe and effective procedure?

Modern CO2 and erbi lasers work in proportion, i. e. the beam is broken down into micro-beams in the form of a grid. As a result, only 20% of the surface is damaged and restoration is carried out in the entire mass of the skin. This effect minimizes the potential for heat damage, unpleasant consequences in the form of scarring and scarring, and also accelerates tissue repair.

As a result of the laser action, a coagulation column is formed, which in the case of ablative - open, non-ablative - closed technology. These columns are located at a certain distance from each other due to fractional action. The cells surrounding the coagulation zone undergo heat shock, which activates their metabolism and produces new cells. Thanks to that, the lifting effect is achieved, the skin is rejuvenated.

Vaginal rejuvenation is suitable for whom?

Vaginal rejuvenation is a highly effective method of solving problems such as shallow wrinkles, melasma, and reduced skin elasticity and firmness.

The laser works mainly in the upper layers of the dermis, not penetrating deep, but affecting the surface layer. As a result, the skin is refreshed with the full depth of beam penetration (up to 1 mm) and visibly corrects superficial imperfections. For best results, only 1 treatment is required. Recovery time after the procedure is 5-7 days.

Vaginal rejuvenation, specifically DOT therapy, is suitable for those who want to achieve quick results with minimal recovery time.

Who is non-ablative rejuvenation suitable for?

Non-ablative rejuvenation is also one of the most effective techniques to remove wrinkles, lift muscles, rejuvenate, improve skin quality, treat melasma and other skin defects.

The fact that the laser's impact is only on the deep layer leads to practically no post-procedure recovery time and only 2-3 days. To achieve the same results as vaginal rejuvenation, a larger number of procedures will be required, usually 3-4. Due to the deeper penetration, complete restructuring of the tissues occurs, resulting in a noticeable lifting effect.

Non-ablative rejuvenation, specifically fractional photothermolysis, is suitable for those who want to get noticeable results without intensive exposure and recovery time.
